source dans le lac Champlain. Son bassin versant est partag\u00e9 entre le Qu\u00e9bec (16%) et les \u00c9tats-Unis (84%). Le Richelieu se jette dans le fleuve Saint-Laurent \u00e0 la hauteur de Sorel-Tracy. L\u2019exutoire de la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu se situe donc tout juste avant le lac Saint-Pierre, un lac fluvial qui constitue une zone \u00e9cologique de grande valeur. Or, les eaux us\u00e9es, le ruissellement urbain\/agricole, l\u2019artificialisation des berges, et les esp\u00e8ces exotiques envahissantes font partie des causes d\u2019une d\u00e9gradation inqui\u00e9tante de la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019eau et des habitats aquatiques dans la section qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise du Richelieu.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8f7ebda elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8f7ebda\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-77c4345\" data-id=\"77c4345\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-496ea77 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"496ea77\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"font_8\">\u200bSi l\u2019anguille d\u2019Am\u00e9rique (Anguilla rostrata), l\u2019alose savoureuse (Alosa sapidissima), le dard de sable (Ammocrypta pellucida), le fouille-roche gris (Percina copelandi), l\u2019esturgeon jaune (Acipenser oxyrinchus) et le chevalier de rivi\u00e8re (Moxostoma carinatum) sont des cas notables d\u2019esp\u00e8ce dans le bassin versant dont la situation est pr\u00e9occupante, c\u2019est le chevalier cuivr\u00e9 (Moxostoma hubbsi) qui retient particuli\u00e8rement l\u2019attention. Seul poisson end\u00e9mique au Qu\u00e9bec, son aire de r\u00e9partition est de faible superficie et la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu est le seul endroit o\u00f9 l&#8217;on retrouve des fray\u00e8res actives. La sp\u00e9cialisation de son r\u00e9gime alimentaire (mollusques) et sa maturit\u00e9 sexuelle tardive (10 ans) sont des facteurs qui augmentent sa vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 vis-\u00e0-vis la d\u00e9gradation globale de son habitat. \u200b<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">La grande vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 du chevalier cuivr\u00e9 et son caract\u00e8re end\u00e9mique \u00e0 une zone d\u2019extension g\u00e9ographique restreinte font de lui un excellent indicateur de la sant\u00e9 de la sant\u00e9 globale des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes aquatiques du bassin versant de la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu et de la zone Saint-Laurent. Malheureusement, le programme de r\u00e9tablissement du chevalier cuivr\u00e9 semble impuissant vis-\u00e0-vis de la faiblesse de l\u2019application r\u00e9glementaire pour le contr\u00f4le \u00e0 la source de la pollution, contr\u00f4le qui s\u2019av\u00e8re pourtant essentiel \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite du programme (MPO, 2012).\u00a0\u200b<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">C\u2019est dans ce contexte que le OIDN a l\u2019intention de\u00a0mobiliser une coalition de groupes environnementaux sur ce dossier\u00a0pour appuyer une\u00a0mise en demeure \u00e0 l\u2019endroit du Gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec\u00a0en vertu de l\u2019article 8 Loi affirmant le caract\u00e8re collectif des ressources en eau et favorisant une meilleure gouvernance de l\u2019eau et des milieux associ\u00e9s.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rivi\u00e8re Richelieu Rivi\u00e8re Richelieu (Quebec, Canada) La rivi\u00e8re Richelieu est un tributaire du fleuve Saint-Laurent qui prend sa source dans le lac Champlain.
